What A First Time Steroid User Should Know About Roids

           As you probably know anabolic steroids are the synthetic male hormone testosterone. They can be taken either orally or through injections. Legally, anabolics require a doctor’s prescription. However, due to the Internet, a prescription becomes a moot point. In light of this, it is safe to assume anabolic steroids are not prescribed for enhancement purposes.

These prescriptions can be for:

  • Delayed puberty, which is a hormone deficiency.
  • Diseases, which result in the loss of lean, muscle mass.

          Anabolic steroids generally considered being abused when it comes to enhancement purposes. This is based on the fact that the user will take anywhere from 10 to 100 times more than when prescribed for medical purposes.

What are Steroid Enhancements?

Steroid cycles (use) have 3 purposes:

  • The improvement of mass and strength
  • Promotion of a harder and leaner body
  • Improve your performance as an athlete

         Typically, take steroids intermittently as opposed to continuously. Anabolic steroid use should not be started prior to the age of 25, though you may find many teenagers enthralled by the body builder’s enhancements.

Beginning Use at an Early Age can Produce;

  • The development of the users genetic potential may intercepte
  • Stunted growth may occur
  • Hair loss
  • Acne
  • Organ failure

          These side effects can and often do occur to those using anabolic steroids after puberty; however, it is on a lesser basis.

What Should Beginners Know?

          There are health effects when taking steroids, the effects can vary by gender;

  • Males – Testicular atrophy (shrinking of the testicles), reduced sperm count leading to infertility, baldness, gynecomastia (breast development) and increased risk of prostate cancer.

When starting a cycle there are certain safety measures a beginner should take:

        Do not stack your steroids; use only testosterone in the beginning only. All humans have testosterone naturally in their system, it is for this reason that testosterone is one of the safest roids. Injecting testosterone will give your body the ability to gauge how your body will react to the use. If you stack multiple steroids an adverse reaction could occur. If you have multiple steroids you will not be able to tell which steroid is giving you the adverse reaction.

             Keep your cycles short. 4 weeks at the most, while 2-3 weeks are even better. A long cycle can introduce some major problems. For instance, a longer cycle may change your lipids, bringing your good cholesterol down and the bad cholesterol up. This could set you up for a heart attack.

Aromatase

          This is an enzyme, has the task of catalyzing testosterone into estrogen. All bodies need estrogen. There is, however, such a thing of too much estrogen for the male. This can lead to testicular atrophy, low libido, and muscle mass loss. There is also the possibility of stroke, hormonal cancers, and heart attack. The body fat should be 20% or less. If higher this can lead to estrogen side effects.

Why First-Time Users are Better off With an Injectable Steroid?

            Should you take oral anabolics you are risking the chance of hepatotoxicity or damage to the liver. Because oral steroids are alkylated there is more resistance by the liver to metabolize. This places stress on the liver.

            While oral steroids appear to work at a faster rate, this is due to the fact that the liver, giving quicker access to the bloodstream, metabolizes it.

          The majority of the well-known injectable steroids are not alkylated, thereby creating less stress on the liver. One should consider using an aromatase inhibitor, which will prevent androgen conversion to estrogen. Be alerted to the fact that aromatase abuse can lead to the dropping of your HDL.

Conclusion:

           Use of anabolic steroids with caution and know the facts about them. The beginner should study the differences between capsulated and injectable steroids and the side effects of both.
